Description	:	Mrs. Grace Hanshan Folkerts Mrs. Grace Hanshan Folkerts was born the 18th of August, 1868 in Manslagt, East Friesland, Germany. She came to America in 1891, settling near Steamboat Rock, where she has resided until her death. She was married to George Folkerts in 1892. To this union ten children were born, two dying in infancy. The rest are living at home except one married son and one son in France. Mrs. Folkerts had been in good health until about a year ago, and for a time it seemed that she would regain her strength. Everything possible was done for her... Read More	Mrs. Grace Hanshan Folkerts Mrs. Grace Hanshan Folkerts was born the 18th of August, 1868 in Manslagt, East Friesland, Germany. She came to America in 1891, settling near Steamboat Rock, where she has resided until her death. She was married to George Folkerts in 1892. Mrs. Folkerts had been in good health until about a year ago, and for a time it seemed that she would regain her strength. Everything possible was done for her but she failed fast, passing away on Saturday, February 22, about 12 oclock, cancer being the cause of her death. She was a member of the Baptist church and an active member of the Aid society where she will be greatly missed. She died at the age of 50 years 6 months and 4 days. She is survived by her husband, eight children and one grandchild. The funeral was held Wednesday at Steamboat Rock, Rev. Lang officiating. Source: The Eldora Herald - 27 February 1919
