Description	:	GERALD "GENE" GILBERT, 74, of rural Uniondale, died Friday, July 3, 2009, at Heritage Point in Warren. Born Aug. 15, 1934, in Wells County, son of the late Paul and Mary (Dowty) Gilbert, he was a farmer. He served his country in the U.S. Army and was a member of Uniondale United Methodist Church. He had been active in Missions work in Oklahoma and California. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Duane Gilbert. Service is 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Uniondale United Methodist Church, with calling one hour prior at the church. Calling also from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Funeral Home, 120 W. Mill Street, Ossian. Burial in Horeb Cemetery. Memorials to Uniondale United Methodist Church or Gideons.
