Description	:	Gerald J. Falter, son of Fred and Amanda Falter, was born March 15, 1919 on a farm east of Creighton. He passed away on July 9 at Lundberg Memorial Hospital at the age of 58. He was confirmed in Zion Lutheran Church in Creighton. He was in the CCCamp from 1936 to 1941. He served in the army during WWII from 1941 to 1945. Read More	Gerald J. Falter, son of Fred and Amanda Falter, was born March 15, 1919 on a farm east of Creighton. He passed away on July 9 at Lundberg Memorial Hospital at the age of 58. He was confirmed in Zion Lutheran Church in Creighton. He was in the CCCamp from 1936 to 1941. He served in the army during WWII from 1941 to 1945. During this time he was a German prisoner of war for 27 months. He was a member of the VFW and the American Legion. He was married to Rachel Johnson of Wausa in 1946. They lived in Wausa for several years and then moved to a farm near Magnet and later moved to a farm near Randolph, where they lived for 18 years. They had one son, Gary. His wife passed away in 1970. He, then, moved to Belden and operated his own business. He was united in marriage to Dolores Clare Hansen of Creighton in 1972 at St. John's Lutheran Church of Randolph. Mr. and Mrs. Falter lived in Belden until Jerry's health began to fail and they moved to Creighton. Survivors include his wife, Dolores, his mother, Mrs. Fred Falter of Creighton; one son, Gary of Laurel; one stepson, Jerry C. Hansen of Norfolk; one stepdaughter, Mrs. Terry (Vicky) Wintz of Riverton, Wyo.; one grandson; four brothers, Cecil and Dwayne of Creighton, Myron of Plainview and Leslie of Tilden and two sisters, Mrs. Harry (Dorothy) Lafrenz of Creighton and Mrs. Gerry (Janith) Schellen of Waterloo. He was preceded in death by his father, Fred Falter. Funeral services were held July 12 at 10:30 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church with Rev. Paul Banitt officiating. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery.
