Description	:	Nickname: Jerry Gerald L. Cox, the oldest of three children born to Otis and Nellie (Zimbelman) Cox, was born March 30, 1913, at Gretna, Kan., in Phillips County. He died Monday at the Good Samaritan Center, Superior, on his 85th birthday. His early years were at Edgewood, Colo., where he attended grade school. He died Monday at the Good Samaritan Center, Superior, on his 85th birthday. His early years were at Edgewood, Colo., where he attended grade school. He came with his family to Superior to live in 1926 and graduated from Superior High School with the class of 1931. On June 15, 1936, he married Sylvia Jeppesen at Belleville. An employee of the US Postal service, he received a permanent appointment in 1947 and retired Sept. 17, 1982, after 35 years of service. He had been a member of the United Methodist Church and Methodist Men, he served 34 years as a volunteer fireman, Lions Club, Odd Fellows, Rebekah Lodge, all of Superior and Danish Brotherhood of Ruskin. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Sylvia, on Sept. 8, 1990. Survivors include two sons, Robert, Superior, and Ronald, Kearney; two daughters, Mrs. Roger Masters (Kathleen), Billings, Mont., and Mrs. Alan Holle (Marjorie), Deshler; two sisters, Marjorie Johnson, Grand Prairie, Texas and Muriel Hensley, Kimball; 11 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. today (Thursday), at the United Methodist Church, Superior. The Rev. Patterson Culligan will officiate. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery. Williams Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Superior Express April 2, 1998.
