You will be truly missed by all *** Humboldt Union May 28, 2015 Gerald "Jerry" Lee Stephens, Jr., died Sunday, May 24, 2015. He was 61. He was born in Kansas City, Nov. 25, 1953, to Gerald Lee and Evelyn Nadine Stephens. They moved to Humboldt when he was four. He graduated Humboldt High School in 1971 and then attended the University of Kansas for two years, earning a degree in computer science. He worked in Denver, CO., in the oil and gas industry and in 1984 he moved to Ventura, CA., and found a job in computer operations for a bank in Santa Barbara, CA. He married Lorraine Kuzen, Sept. 18, 2004. To this union a son, Simon was born. In 2012, he and his family moved back to Humboldt. He was a member of the Humboldt City Council, Rotary Club, Lions Club, Biblesta Committee, Humboldt PRIDE, Humboldt's Downtown Action Team, and Director of the Humboldt Housing Authority. He is survived by his wife, Lorraine, of the home, a son, Simon, of the home, and a sister, Charlotte Lucas, of Humboldt. He was preceded in death by his parents. Cremation has taken place. Memorial services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 27 at the First Baptist Church, in Humboldt.
