Gerald Orval, son of Mr. and Mrs. Luther C. Dillavou, was born in Weldon, DeWitt, county, Ill., Nov. 11, 1890. He was married at Salem to Mary Mosher. For many years he was a public school instructor and for 25 years was rural mail carrier out of Yarmouth. He retired about three years ago, and a year later, Mr. and Mrs. Dillavou went to Muscatine to make their home. Mr. Dillavour was a member of the Methodist church. Besides his widow he is survived by the following children: Mrs. Martha Wiley of Wyman, Luther C. Dillavou of Letts, Mrs. Nedra Bergen and Rex C. Dillavou of Muscatine, and Mrs. Ellen Evans of Tiffin. He also leaves 11 grandchildren, three great grandchildren and the following brother and sisters; Earl Dillavou of Salem, Mrs. Stella Hennessee and Orne Dillavou of Lockridge, Mrs. Sylvia Barclay of Sullivan, Ill., Edgar Dillavou of New London and Edman Dillavou of Ft. Madson. One sister, Mrs. Lillian Lite and One brother, Aaron Dillavou preceded him in death. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the Elliott Chapel in New London and burial will be in Friends cemetery at Salem. Nephews will be pallbearers.
