"Jerry" Goodwin, son of Samuel and Mabel Robbins Goodwin, was born April 13, 1910, in Correctionville. He attended rural school on Ridge road and high school in Correctionville. He married Faye Utesch March 9, 1933, at Elk Point, South Dakota. The couple farmed the family centennial farm near Correctionville. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church. He served as trustee of Union township for 50 years. He was a member of the Woodbury County Fair Board and served as superintendent in the horse department for many years. Throughout his lifetime, Jerry enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding horses, playing cards, and especially visiting with family and friends. To him there were no strangers. Survivors include his wife, Faye, two sons, Lee and Colleen of Alta, and Keith and Carol of Correctionville, a daughter, Karen Johnson of Freeport, Illinois, nine grandchildren and one great grandson. He was preceded in death by his parents, and two sisters, Iris Wright and Ruth Crom.
