Crom, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Goodwin, was born August 4, 1900, in Correctionville. She graduated with a normal training certificate from the Correctionville High School and taught in the rural Correctionville area schools. On March 3, 1921, she married Marvin Crom at her parents' home at Correctionville. The couple lived in Ida Grove for many years where Marvin was a barber and Ruth worked as a clerk at J.C. Penney Company and later at the Ida Grove Library. They retired in the early 1960s and moved to Denver, Colorado. In the mid-1960s they moved to Redwood City, California. Mrs. Crom was a member of the United Methodist Church. She was a past member of the Order of the Eastern Star and American Legion Auxiliary. Survivors include her husband, a son, Philip of San Carlos, California, two grandchildren, one brother, Gerald Goodwin of Correctionville, and several nieces and nephews. Her parents and one sister, Iris Wright, preceded her in death.
