Description	:	"Gerald William “Pugs” Larson, 88, of Uehling passed away Saturday, Nov. 22, 2014, at the Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, surrounded by his family. Gerald was born Aug. 26, 1926, at home in rural Craig to Harry C. and Helen E. (Koehler) Larson. He was baptized and confirmed at Elim Lutheran Church of Swaburg, rural Hooper. Read More	"Gerald William “Pugs” Larson, 88, of Uehling passed away Saturday, Nov. 22, 2014, at the Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, surrounded by his family. Gerald was born Aug. 26, 1926, at home in rural Craig to Harry C. and Helen E. (Koehler) Larson. He was baptized and confirmed at Elim Lutheran Church of Swaburg, rural Hooper. Gerald graduated from Uehling High School in 1943. In 1954, he married the love of his life, Donna Rickert, at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Oakland. Gerald loved his family and friends dearly. He never met a stranger. He loved farming, sports and traveling, but there was no place like home. He enjoyed small town life. Survivors include: his wife, Donna; daughters and sons-in-law, Joan and Dave Bixler of Minnetonka, Minn., and Cindy and Dan Christensen of Austin, Texas; sisters, Mary (Emery) Johnson and Margie Davis, both of Fremont, and Mable (Rodney) Nelson of Sidney; brother, Richard Larson of Uehling; four grandchildren, Peter (Pam) Christensen, Carrie (Ryan) Jackson, Trent (Corrinne) Grover, and Amber (Mike) Trapp; and eight great-grandchildren, Tanner, Cameron and Ava Jackson, Hannah and Emma Christensen, Cillian and Malcolm Grover, and Griffin Trapp. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Harry Jr. The funeral will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Oakland. The Rev. Mark Eldal will officiate. The organist will be Billye Pearson. Vocalists will be Mark and Terry Wallerstedt. Visitation with the family receiving friends will be from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Pelan Funeral Home in Oakland. Visitation will continue one hour prior to service time Wednesday at the church. Burial will be in Argo Cemetery in rural Uehling. Casket bearers will be Gerald Johnson, Mark Wallerstedt, Bob Davis, Brian Radebaugh, Bruce Goolsby and Kevin Larson.
