Burial will be in the O’Neill Cemetery following services. Father Bernard Starman will officiate. Visitation will be from 5-7 PM on Thursday, September 6, 2018 at Biglin’s Morturary in O’Neill with a 7 PM Rosary. Biglin’s Morturary in O’Neill is in charge of arrangements. Geraldine Earline Hile was born in Rockville, NE to Earl and Zella (Carpenter) Hile. Gerry attended St. Edward High School in St. Edward, NE and Business School in Omaha, NE after graduation. While living in Omaha, Gerry met George and the couple married on July 31, 1948 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in O’Neill, NE. They later moved to O’Neill and established their home. Gerry devoted her time to raising their family and supporting George in operating the 4th Street Market grocery and Elkhorn Motel. In 1975 she began working at the First National Bank (known today as Great Western Bank) until her retirement in 1984. Gerry had many varied interests and talents. She enjoyed quilting and spending numerous hours with her friends in a quilting club “The Material Girls”. She also enjoyed China painting, cooking, reading, playing Bridge, and gardening. She loved watching the Nebraska girls volleyball team, Husker football, and the KC Royals baseball games with her husband George. Her biggest joy in life was being with her family, laughing, visiting and sharing stories with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Gerry is survived by six children, Christie Janousek (Greg) of White Plains, MD, Jim Janousek of Leonardtown, MD, Greg Janousek (Patty) of Omaha, Joe Janousek (Celia) of O’Neill, Jennifer Koenig of O’Neill , Jackie (Keith) Anna of Colorado Springs, CO; nine grandchildren, Jeannie (Tony) Tallent, Brooke Heck, Jason(Kelly) Janousek, Ryan Janousek, Elliott Janousek, Hannah Janousek, Carol (Ben) Doolittle, Madeline Anna, Doug Anna; five great grandchildren, Mara Tallent, Henry Janousek, Jack Janousek, Coby Doolittle, and Jay Doolittle. Gerry was preceded in death by her husband, George; her parents, Earl and Zella; one infant sister, Patricia; one infant brother, Roland; one son-in-law, David Koenig and one daughter-in-law, Mary (McCabe) Janousek.
