Description	:	Geraldine Lillian Gilbert Geraldine Lillian Gilbert, 86, of North Platte, passed away Feb. 27, 2012, at her home. She was born Aug. 22, 1925, in North Platte to Arthur and Bernice (Pursel) Staples. Geraldine grew up in North Platte and graduated from North Platte High School. She then attended nursing school in Scottsbluff. She came back to North Platte where she volunteered at the North Platte Canteen. She married William J. Gilbert on Oct. 30, 1948. Read More	Geraldine Lillian Gilbert Geraldine Lillian Gilbert, 86, of North Platte, passed away Feb. 27, 2012, at her home. She was born Aug. 22, 1925, in North Platte to Arthur and Bernice (Pursel) Staples. Geraldine grew up in North Platte and graduated from North Platte High School. She then attended nursing school in Scottsbluff. She came back to North Platte where she volunteered at the North Platte Canteen. She married William J. Gilbert on Oct. 30, 1948. The couple lived in North Platte, where Geraldine sold Tupperware for many years while raising her family. After retirement, the couple moved to Hershey.She was a member of the Salvation Army Church, where she was very active and was a Sunday School Teacher; and volunteered for many things in the church, being very involved in the prayer chain, reaching out to people even in her bad health. She will be remembered for her caring ways, and always found the good in everyone.She belonged to TOPS. Survivors include the children, Dennis (Sharon) Gilbert, of Fort Worth, Texas, Margaret Kaczmarek, of Omaha, Dave (Jeanie) Gilbert, of North Platte, Chris Schriner, of North Platte, Char (Perry) Nicholas, of Hershey, Wilma (Richard) Tackett, of North Platte, Thomas (Rebecca) Gilbert, of North Platte, and Shirlene (Randy) Smith, of North Platte; 18 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; 10 siblings, Norma Gale, of North Platte, Clarice Rule, of Chicago, Betty (Bill) Denton, of Lompoc, Calif., Keith (Janet) Staples, of Pocatello, Idaho, Jean (Drexel) Smith, of Springfield, Mo., Joan (Tom) Eddins, of North Platte, Judy (Mike) Grassmeyer, of Kearney, Jack (Carolyn) Staples, of Oregon, Karen (Ted) Miller, of Oshkosh, and Barbara (Glenn) Johanson, of North Platte; and numerous other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William J; a son, Jonathan; granddaughter, Joanna Tackett; brother, Wallace Staples; two sisters, Doris Motsinger and Elsie Jacoby; two sons-in-law, Dale Schriner and Anthony Kaczmarek.Services will be on Thursday, March 1, at 10:30 a.m. at the Salvation Army Church with Captain Jason Poff officiating.
