Description	:	HOLYOKE, Colo. -- Geraldine Marie Wilkening, 62, of Holyoke, died Monday, Aug. 7, 2000, at University Hospital in Denver, Colo. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church in Holyoke, Colo. Burial will be at Holyoke Memorial Park. The Rev. Gary Jones of the First Baptist Church will officiate. Memorials may be made to the Gerry Wilkening Memorial Fund, which will be given to Special Olympics or for cancer research. Mrs. Wilkening was born on Aug. 22, 1937, at Belleview Hospital in Muscatine, the daughter of George and Helen Neva Blake Haller. She married Richard Clyde Wilkening on May 29, 1958, in Muscatine. She worked at Havemann's Grocery Store and McKee Button Factory. She graduated from Muscatine High School in 1955 and Muscatine Community College in 1957 with a teacher's certificate. Her first teaching job was at What Cheer Grade School Gerry and her husband moved to Holyoke in 1973. She worked at the Holyoke Grade School as a teacher's aide in special education for 25 years. She was employed by Eastern Colorado Services for 5 years and was a volunteer for Special Olympics for several years. She was a devoted mother and grandmother and loved to spend time with her family and especially enjoyed her grandchildren. Survivors include her husband, Clyde Wilkening of Holyoke; her sister, Georgia Ann Lane and her husband, Richard, of Eldridge; her children, David Wilkening and wife, Connie, of Haxtun, Colo., Daniel Wilkening and his wife, Beth, of Holyoke, Bryan Wilkening of Haxtun and Jane Zink and her husband, Dennis, of Holyoke; grandchildren, Amanda, Morgan and Darian Wilkening of Haxtun, Amber, Lauren and Nicole Wilkening of Holyoke, Christopher and William Wilkening of Haxtun, and Erick Zink of Holyoke; brothers-in-law; sisters-in-law; and nieces and nephews living in Iowa. She was preceded in death by her parents and a granddaughter, Erica Jo Zink.
