Description	:	WATERVILLE - Gerard J. Giguere, 91, died Wednesday, July 7, 2005, peacefully at his residence. He was born in Disraeli, Quebec, a son of Henri and Rose Anna (Boutin) Giguere. Gerard started work at Ware Butler at age 18 and became president and owner in the mid-1950s. He worked until his retirement in the late 1980s. Read More	WATERVILLE - Gerard J. Giguere, 91, died Wednesday, July 7, 2005, peacefully at his residence. He was born in Disraeli, Quebec, a son of Henri and Rose Anna (Boutin) Giguere. Gerard started work at Ware Butler at age 18 and became president and owner in the mid-1950s. He worked until his retirement in the late 1980s. He was a charter member and past president of the Waterville Exchange Club, life member of the Waterville Elks Lodge 905, past president of the Retail Lumber Dealers of Maine and received the "Lumber Person of the Year" award from the Northeastern Retail Lumber Dealers Association in 1989. Gerard also served on the board of the Waterville Sewer District for many years. The family would like to thank all of Gerard's caregivers and a special thanks to Shelly Thibodeau, who was very close to him. Gerard's wife of 58 years, Charlotte, passed away in 1999. Surviving are four children, Roland Giguere of Livermore Falls, Rachael Cote and her husband, Ray, of Oakland, Elaine Giguere of Narrowsburg, N.Y., and Richard Giguere and his wife, Mary Alice, of Waterville; one brother, Lionel of Waterville; five sisters, Estelle Fortin, Yvette Vigue, Lucille Roy and Cecile Landry, all of Waterville, and Marion Murphy of Lewiston; nine grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
