She spent her early childhood in Keokuk County before moving with her parents, brothers, and sisters to settle in Taylor County, near Guss. She was united in marriage to George W. She is survived by her husband George, her four children, 14 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren; three sons-in-law, Clarence Findley, Carl Brand, Marvin Imel, one brother, Gilbert Branan of Clarinda, Iowa, three sisters, May Stephens of Diagonal, Grace Konecne of Corning, Iowa, Hester Case of Holdredge, Nebraska, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Clayton and Emery, two daughters and one granddaughter. Her pastime was crocheting, tatting, and piecing quilts. Her greatest delight was seeing the smile on a new mother's face when she handed them a baby quilt. She enjoyed her neighborhood club and the Senior Citizens Club in Lenox; spreading her love and joy to all ages. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Funeral services were held from the Bender Funeral Home in Lenox, Monday afternoon, June 22nd at 1:30 with Rev. John Wagner, pastor of the Salem church officiating. Music was furnished by Pauline Wilson and Lula Mae Beck. Bearers were John Cade, Ernest Nook, Byron Northup, Glenn Williams, Melvin Williams, and Roland Boltinghouse.
