Mass of Christian Burial will be on Thursday, June 11, 2015 at 10:30 AM at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Fordyce with the Rev. Jeffery Loseke officiating. Read More	Gertrude Ann Dietsch, age 95 of Omaha, Nebraska and formerly of Fordyce, Nebraska died on Sunday, June 7, 2015 at CountryHouse Residence in Omaha. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Thursday, June 11, 2015 at 10:30 AM at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Fordyce with the Rev. Jeffery Loseke officiating. Burial will be at St. John the Baptist Cemetery in Fordyce. Visitation will be on Wednesday, at church, from 6-8:00 PM with a Vigil service at 7:00 PM. Thursday morning the family will be processing from Hartington; there will not be a viewing at the church prior to Mass. Arrangements are under the direction of the Wintz Funeral Home in Hartington. Pallbearers will be Paul Dietsch, Benjamin Dietsch, Ted Kathol, Jonathan Kathol, Adam Dietsch, and Joseph Cady. Honorary pallbearers will be her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Gertrude was born on September 17, 1919 in Hartington, Nebraska to Peter and Elizabeth (Binder) Becker. She grew up in Fordyce and graduated from Mount Marty High School in Yankton, SD. Gertrude graduated from Wayne State Teachers College. She taught in a country school in Cedar County. Gertrude married Frank Joseph Dietsch on April 24, 1945 in Fordyce, NE. Frank and Gertrude went into partnership with Charles Thoene at Thoene-Dietsch Hardware Store in Fordyce, which later became Dietsch Hardware. Gertrude worked at the Fordyce Co-op Credit Association and then First Dakota National Bank in Yankton. She then came back to work in Fordyce at Cedar Security Bank where she retired. Frank died on February 13, 2008 at the age of 93 years. Gertrude moved to New Cassel Retirement Center in Omaha in 2009 and then in 2013 moved to CountryHouse Residence, Omaha. She was a lifelong member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and its Guild, Archdiocesan Prayer Ministry, Christian Mothers, and the Hartington VFW Auxiliary. Gertrude is survived by her seven children and their spouses, Robert and Mary Lou Dietsch of Omaha, Daniel and Kathy Dietsch of Omaha, Jerene and Avon Vandewege of Lincoln, James and Lois Dietsch of Seward, daughter-in-law Winnie Dietsch of Shaker Heights, OH, Mary Kramer of Lincoln, Joan and Skip Cady of St. Michael, MN, Carole and Lyle Schulte of Fordyce; 20 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Frank; son Gary Dietsch; three grandchildren Scott Dietsch, Allison and Marie Schulte; five brothers and five sisters.
