Born Nov. 10, 1910, in White County, she was the daughter of James and Rosa Eastwood Tillett. She was married April 6, 1934, in Monticello, to Harry R. Franks, who preceded in death Jan. 25, 1958. A graduate of Monticello High School, Mrs. Franks worked at the White County Democrat Newspaper, the Old Thread Mill, and then retired from Cheesebrough Ponds in 1977. She was a member of Monticello United Methodist Church, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Women Auxiliary, and the Monticello Ladies of the Moose. She also had been a member of the Rebekahs in Monticello. Mrs. Franks enjoyed reading, bingo, and traveling. Surviving are two sons, Harry Jim Franks, and his wife, Marie, Monticello, and Donald R. Franks and his wife, Marilyn, Ocoee, Fla.; one brother, Lester "Bud" Tillett and his wife, Darlene, Monticello; two sisters, Helen Russell, Monticello, and Ruth Reese, Fort Wayne; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. One brother, James Tillett, preceded in death. Burial will be in Riverview IOOF Cemetery. Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.
