She was born at the Griffin homestead 7 ½ miles southwest of Glasco and attended Columbia No. 6 and Bluffdale Country Schools. Gertrude died at the Delphos Rest Home, Sunday, March 9, 1986. Read More	Glasco Sun March 13, 1986 Page 1 Gertrude Catherine Griffin Funeral Wednesday Gertrude Catherine Griffin, the youngest of ten children, was born to Michael and Catherine Murray Griffin on Feb. 7, 1901. She was born at the Griffin homestead 7 ½ miles southwest of Glasco and attended Columbia No. 6 and Bluffdale Country Schools. Gertrude died at the Delphos Rest Home, Sunday, March 9, 1986. Gertrude was a beautician in Solomon for several years before moving to Denver, Colo., in 1947. She was employed at St. Luke's Hospital in Denver until 1966. The past 2 ½ years she has been a resident of the Delphos Rest Home. She was preceded in death by her parents, eight brothers, William, Michael, Thomas, John, James F., Cornelius, Frederick, and Edward and one sister, mary Ellen Shaw, and several nieces and nephews. She is survived by four nieces, Catherine Newland, Glasco; Mary Gibbens, Aorora, Colo.; Hope Griffin, LaCanada, Calif.; and Frances Adamis, Santa Rosa, Calif., and numerous great nieces and nephews. The funeral mass was celebrated by Fr. Merlin Kieffer at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Wednesday, March 12 at 9 a.m. Burial was in the Glasco Cemetery. Rosary service was Tuesday evening at the Dean Funeral Home, Glasco, at 7:30 p.m. Memorials may be given to St. Mary's Catholic Church or the charity of choice.
