Description	:	Gertrude (Dick) Throne, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Levi Dick, was born July 8, 1887 at Chanderville, Ill. and died August 25, 1940, at Lincoln, Nebraska, at the age of 63 years, 1 month and 17 days. Her early childhood was spent in Illinois, but in 1892 she came with her parents to Chester, Nebraska here she lived and helped build a better community. Her early childhood was spent in Illinois, but in 1892 she came with her parents to Chester, Nebraska here she lived and helped build a better community. On February 11, 1901 she was united in marriage with Albert Throne. Three children came to bless their home, Mildred, Alberta, and Bernetha. Mrs. Throne was a loving, devoted wife and mother. Her children can rise up and "call her blessed." She was of a sunny disposition. This was revealed very much so in her choice of dwelling on her blessings rather than on the dark and painful experiences of life. She had broad sympathy for others, and gave of herself as for as her strength would permit. Through all the years of her suffering, she did not complain. Instead she met life with a smile, and thus brightened lives pathway. She was a great lover of flowers, and in tending them found much satisfaction. Through them she was able to add beauty to life. Her untimely departure brings sorrow to the hearts of her many friends as well as the near and dear ones. She is survived by her devoted husband Albert Throne, three daughters, Mrs. Victor Miller, Mrs. Henry Stroh, and Mrs. Raymond Hitchcock, all of Lincoln. Ones (sic) sister, Mrs. T.T. Faith of Sioux City. Two grandchildren, other relatives and a host of friends. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the Methodist Church.
