Death came suddenly on September 28, from a heart attack following a few hours of hospitalization. Gertrude Emilie Morse was born Aug. 18, 1884, a daughter of George E. and Elizabeth Morse at Springville, Wis. She spent her early childhood and schooldays in Vernon County and at Viroqua, Wis. Gertrude Emilie Morse was born Aug. 18, 1884, a daughter of George E. and Elizabeth Morse at Springville, Wis. She spent her early childhood and schooldays in Vernon County and at Viroqua, Wis. She came to Groton in the summer of 1913 and remained in this vicinity where she was married to Lars A. Larsen on June 15, 1918. Two daughters were born to this union. They farmed in the Groton vicinity until October, 1941, when they moved to town to make their home. In May, 1943, they moved to De Smet, S. D., where they have since made their home. She is survived by her husband, two daughters, Mrs. Donald (Margarette) Clocksene, Groton, and Mrs. Otto F. (Hazelle) Sckerl of De Smet; four grandchildren, Dona and Marjorie Clocksene and David and Kent Sckerl, and two sisters, Misses Mary and Margarette E. Morse of Viroque, Wis. She was preceded in death by her parents and several brothers and sisters. Officiating at the services was the Rev. Harvey Sander, with Mrs. Sander at the organ. Music was furnished by the Misses Margaret and Myrtle Blader of Groton. Pallbearers were Darrell Clocksene, Ralph Peterson of Groton, Kenneth Alberts, George Alberts, Jr., Raymond Alberts, of Putney, and Jesse Alberts of Claremont. Burial was in the Groton Union Cemetery. Friends and relatives attending from out-of-town were Miss Margarett E. Morse, Viroqua, Wis.; Ernest Warner, LaCrosse, Wis.; Mr. and Mrs. Joe Warner, Wessington, S. D.; Mr. and Mrs. Trgyve Larson, Miss Alice J. Nelson, Mrs. Bertha McAdarogh, Mrs. Clause Smith, Mrs. Vera Gildseth of De Smet; Mrs. James Wilcox, Mr. and Mrs. Carniel Wells, Webster; Mr. and Mrs. Walter Sckerl and Mr. and Mrs. Rudolf Sckerl, Lake City.
