Larsen was born March 31, 1919 at Aberdeen, to Lars A. and Gertrude Emily (Morse) Larsen. She was baptized and confirmed in the Groton United Methodist Church. She grew up on a farm outside of Groton and attended Messing country sschool for two years before attending Johnson School at East Riverside, through the eight grade. Margarette then attended and graduated from Groton High School in 1938. After graduation, she worked at Dietz Drug Store, The Groton Telephone Company as an operator, and also at Ackerson's Hardware. She married Donald A. Clocksene, December 14, 1944 in Milbank, SD. They would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary this year. After many years of being homebound, Margarette became a resident of Beverly Healthcare, May of 2004, where she continued to reside until the time of her death. She was a life-long member of the Groton United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, and held various offices in the United Methodist Women's group. She was the MYF leader during the years her daughters were in high school, and served as a camp counselor at Lake Poinsett Methodist Youth Camp. She was also a member of the Tuesday Cracker Jack Extension Club and belonged to a monthly birthday club. She especially enjoyed having coffee with the neighbor ladies, and loved feeding and watching birds. Her memory lives on through her husband, Donald, Groton; two daughters, Dona (Merle) Higgs, Clark, SD, and Marjorie (Roger) Overacker, Groton; three grandchildren, Jeff and Kristi (Wallen) Reuter, Shane and Angela (Overacker) Johnson, and Jesse and Jaymie Overacker; three great grandchildren, Sterling Johnson, Madeline Reuter and KayLynn Overacker, and one sister, Hazelle (Otto) Sckerl, DeSmet, SD. She was preceded in death by her parents and her son-in-law, Ronald Wallen. Casketbearers were Kent Sckerl, Orville West, Dennis White, Josh Clocksene, Jerry Johnson and Alan Strom.
