Read More	Gertrude Julia (Duclos) Brillon, 94, of South Attleboro, MA, peacefully passed away on Friday, February 17, 2017 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was the loving and beloved wife of Gerald Lawrence Brillon, Sr., to whom she was married on May 14, 1945 for almost seventy-two years: "All my love – All my life." Born on December 19, 1922 in Attleboro, MA, she was the daughter of the late Edward Duclos and the late Julia (Nadeau) Duclos. A lifelong resident of Attleboro, Gertrude was a graduate of Attleboro High School, Class of 1940, who genuinely cherished her role as a Homemaker to her large and loving family. A woman of strong faith and devotion, she was a member of St. Theresa of the Child Jesus Parish in South Attleboro, the Confraternity of Christian Mothers, the Daughters of Isabella. She was an active member of the community, including the ARC of Bristol County, the South Attleboro American Legion Post 312 Disabled American Veterans Ladies Auxiliary, and as a Cub Scout Den Mother for Pack 24 for many years. Gertrude loved puzzles, playing Scrabble, knitting, sewing, crocheting, cooking, watching and feeding birds, caring for her pet bird, "Xander" and, in earlier years, the family's dogs. She was an ardent fan of the Red Sox and Patriots, and was an avid reader who would at times read a book a day. Her greatest joy and sense of accomplishment came from her expansive family, all of whom she truly loved caring for and being with. In addition to her husband, she leaves her cherished children: Gerald Lawrence Brillon, Jr. and his wife, Diane O. (Girard) Brillon, of South Attleboro, MA; Frances J. (Brillon) Costa and her husband, Joseph A. Costa, of North Attleboro, MA; Paul J. Brillon and his wife, Jeanne S. (Fredette) Brillon, of South Attleboro, MA; Roland E. Brillon and his wife, Mary-Jayne (Dufort) Brillon, of Attleboro, MA; Julie A. (Brillon) Forbes and her late husband, Ronald W. Forbes, of South Attleboro, MA; Russell H. Brillon and his wife, Kimberly J. (Waugh) Brillon, of Westminster, MA; Theresa L. (Brillon) Cook and her husband, Robert W. Cook, of South Attleboro, MA; Bernadette M. (Brillon) Cook and her husband, Timothy D. Cook, Sr., of South Attleboro, MA; Arthur J. Brillon and his wife, Mary Dee E. (Parker) Brillon, of South Attleboro, MA; and Christopher P. Brillon of South Attleboro, MA. She was the adoring grandmother of twenty-three grandchildren and thirty-five great-grandchildren. Gertrude leaves her twin sisters, Dorothy Summerly of Pawtucket, RI and Beatrice Cronin of Attleboro, MA. She leaves numerous nieces and nephews, her extended family, and many dear friends. Gertrude was the sister of the late Yvonne Shults, Rita Rogers, Cecile Fanning, Esther Aussant, Elaine L. Monast, Ralph Duclos, Ferman Duclos, Clifford Duclos, Clement Duclos, Raymond Duclos, and Lester Duclos. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend the Funeral Service from the “Memorial Chapel” of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, North Attleboro, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Theresa of the Child Jesus Parish, 18 Baltic Street, Attleboro, MA.
