She was born October 22, 1922 in Auglaize County, Ohio, the daughter of Olan "Earl" and Opal (Koehn) Raymond. She married Frank W. McMullen on November 13, 1941 and he preceded her in death on October 8, 2005. She was born October 22, 1922 in Auglaize County, Ohio, the daughter of Olan "Earl" and Opal (Koehn) Raymond. She married Frank W. McMullen on November 13, 1941 and he preceded her in death on October 8, 2005. She is survived by her two sons: Charles (Jeanne) McMullen of Beavercreek, Ohio; Gary (Ginger) McMullen of Saint Marys; by one granddaughter: Deanna (Joe) Grimes of Dayton; by two great-grandsons, Alex and Dominic Grimes; by a step-great-granddaughter, Mandy Wilson; by two sisters-in-law, Ruth Raymond of Saint Marys and Carol Raymond of Florida. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, five sisters: Barbara Gottschalk, Patricia Raymond, Dottie Huber, Iona Mullen and Bessie Davis; by two brothers: Vernon Raymond and Olan "John" Raymond. Three infant siblings also preceded her in death. Gertrude was a 1940 graduate of Saint Marys Memorial High School. She had worked at the former Buchanan's Department Store and Saint Marys Cotton Mill, both in Saint Marys. She was a member of Saint Paul's United Church of Christ. She enjoyed fishing and took great joy in helping other people. Funeral rites will be held 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, November 19, 2013 at the Miller Funeral Home, 1605 Celina Road, Saint Marys, the Reverend Dr. Ed Bray officiant. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens. Friends may call from 6-8 P.M. Monday at the funeral home, where memorial gifts may be given to Van Wert Inpatient Hospice. Condolences may be sent to Gertrude's family via Millerfuneralhomes.net.
