She was born Jan. 26, 1916, in Surry County to the late Elmer and Lillie Davis Snow. Mrs. Key was formerly employed at Frances' Salon of Hair Styling and was of the Baptist faith. Read More	PILOT MOUNTAIN, NC ~ Mrs. Gertrude Snow Key, 88, of 142 Key St., Pilot Mountain died Monday, March 29, 2004, at Northern Hospital of Surry County. She was born Jan. 26, 1916, in Surry County to the late Elmer and Lillie Davis Snow. Mrs. Key was formerly employed at Frances' Salon of Hair Styling and was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include her husband, Preacher Paul W. Key of the home; two daughters and sons-in-law: Gail and Robert Kimball of Salisbury and Pattie and Ed Wall of Pilot Mountain; three sons and daughters-in-law: Paul J. and Carol Key of Madison, Ind., Bobby R. and Gale Key of Clemmons and Glenn M. and Sarah Key of Pilot Mountain; 16 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; five sisters: Annie Riddle, Ova White, Fern Poindexter, Lena White and Dot Brown, all of Dobson; two brothers: Mack Snow and Wade Snow, both of Dobson; and a special caregiver, Rita Hogsed. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Key was preceded in death by two brothers: Perry Snow and Merritt Snow. The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 31, at Howell Funeral Chapel of Pilot Mountain, conducted by Elder Vance Jones and family members. Interment will follow at Jessup Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Pilot Mountain. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. today, March 30, at Howell Funeral Home of Pilot Mountain and other times at the home of Ed and Pattie Wall, 511 Golf Course Road, Pilot Mountain.
