Was Well Known in This Community The death of Mrs. Nannen, wife of Henry Nannen, of Preston township, which occurred on Wednesday, was surrounded by unusually sad circumstances, being due to an accident which occurred on Monday. Mr. Nannen was in the yard of the farm operating a gasoline engine which he uses to grind corn, pump water, and for various other purposes. Mrs. Nannen was carrying a pail of water across the yard and in stepping over the tumbling rod, her dress caught, and she was thrown violently to the ground sustaining an internal rupture from which she died Wednesday. A doctor was summoned from Akron, but medical skill proved unavailing. Mrs. Nannen leaves a husband and three small children, besides a large number of relatives to mourn her untimely death. One of the children is a baby in arms. Her maiden name was Geste Maria Frerichs. She was a daughter of Claus B. Frerichs, one of the best known and prosperous farmers in that section. She had lived all her life in Plymouth county, having been born in Preston township on May 28, 1881. Her early death is a great blow to her husband and he and the family have the sympathy and condolences of a large number of friends in their overwhelming sorrow. The funeral was held on Saturday at the Preston township Lutheran church, and was largely attended by friends and neighbors. The funeral procession was one of the biggest ever seen in the county.
