Description	:	Gilbert Gustav Boysen was born on June 27, 1912 at Denison, the son of Nickolaus and Helena Kuehl Boysen. He died April 13, 1982 at the Manilla Manor, Manilla at the age of 69. Gilbert was baptized and later confirmed in the Lutheran faith. He was raised and educated in the Denison community. After his marriage to Betty Whited in Omaha, Neb., he made his home in Crawford and Ida Counties. Later he moved to Denison where he was employed for many years. Read More	Gilbert Gustav Boysen was born on June 27, 1912 at Denison, the son of Nickolaus and Helena Kuehl Boysen. He died April 13, 1982 at the Manilla Manor, Manilla at the age of 69. Gilbert was baptized and later confirmed in the Lutheran faith. He was raised and educated in the Denison community. After his marriage to Betty Whited in Omaha, Neb., he made his home in Crawford and Ida Counties. Later he moved to Denison where he was employed for many years. After Gilbert's retirement, he continued to make Denison his home. Due to failing health, Gilbert entered the Manilla Manor in Manilla in May of 1981. In addition to his parents, Gilbert was preceded in death by one son Curtis, one daughter Janice, three sisters and three brothers. Survivors include, three daughters, Dorothy (Mrs. Dan) Ruser of Schleswig, JoAnne (Mrs. LeRoy) Wilwerding of Omaha, Neb., and Phyllis Boysen of Des Moines. Also surviving are three grandchildren, one great grandchild, one brother Eldore Boysen of Sioux City and two sisters, Mrs. Hedwig Naeve of Charter Oak and Mrs. Helen Kisling of Sioux City. Funeral services were held on Thursday, April 15 at 2 p.m. at the Huebner Funeral Home in Denison. Burial was in the Morgan Cemetery near Schleswig. The Rev. Glenn Wiechmann of Trinity Lutheran Church in Manilla officiated at the services . Serving as pallbearers were Ed Marth, Burdell Friedrichsen, Willard Friedrichsen, Wilbur Kuhlmann, Gene Friedrichsen and Alvin Naeve.
