Gilbert was the son of James Leslie and Florence (Hainke) Fuller. He graduated from the Ferguson High School's Class of 1943. Mr. Fuller was employed at the Gilman Elevator in Gilman; Marshall County, Iowa. Also a farmhand for many area farmers, retired from Swift and Co. and owned and operated Fuller's Bargain Barn in Newton; Jasper County, Iowa. He enjoyed sports- especially high school softball and baseball games, music, dancing, local history... Read More	* IN LOVING MEMORY OF * Gilbert Lee Fuller was born on Thursday; September 17, 1925, at home in rural Ferguson; Marshall County, Iowa. Gilbert was the son of James Leslie and Florence (Hainke) Fuller. He graduated from the Ferguson High School's Class of 1943. Mr. Fuller was employed at the Gilman Elevator in Gilman; Marshall County, Iowa. Also a farmhand for many area farmers, retired from Swift and Co. and owned and operated Fuller's Bargain Barn in Newton; Jasper County, Iowa. He enjoyed sports- especially high school softball and baseball games, music, dancing, local history and supported the Fuller Arboretum at Green Castle and was a member of the Gilman Saddle Club where he drove his ponies in parades. He was also a charter member of the Laurel Lions Club and served as a scoutmaster for years. In his colorful lifetime, he called the communities of Ferguson, Marshalltown, Gilman, Newton and State Center his home. On Saturday; December 22, 1945, he was united in marriage to Doris Carson. They divorced in 1967. On Friday; August 18, 1972, he married Patricia Marcsisak. Gilbert Lee Fuller, age 81, of the State Center Manor in State Center; Marshall County, Iowa passed away late Saturday night; August 25, 2007 while in care of the Manor and the Iowa River Hospice with his loving family at his side. Marvis Lorraine & her husband: Richard Drew of rural Marshalltown; Marshall County, Iowa. Tim & his wife: Beth Marcsisak of Massena; Cass County, Iowa. Sharon Boughner of Newton; Jasper County, Iowa. Tom & his wife: Pam Fuller of Tampa; Hillsborough County, Florida and Tammie & her husband: Rich Lewis of Melcher-Dallas; Marion County, Iowa. Grandchildren: Randy Allan & his wife: Connie Mommer of Gilman, Iowa. Kevin Lee & his wife: Shelly Mommer of Guttenberg; Clayton County, Iowa. Leslie Gilbert Fuller of Grinnell, Iowa. Alisa Marie & her husband: John Schroeder of Searsboro; Poweshiek County, Iowa. Steven James Fuller of Grinnell, Iowa. Heide Marie Fuller of Gilman, Iowa. Benjamin Robert & his wife: Jennifer Fuller of Gilman, Iowa. Jennifer Lorraine & her husband: Robert Boggs of Roland; Story County, Iowa. Robert William & his wife: Kimberly Drew of Gladbrook; Tama County, Iowa. Numerous great-grandchildren and one-great-grandchild. His sister: Edith Botts of the Southridge Nursing and Rehab Center in Marshalltown, Iowa. His special friend: Maxine Viers of Maxwell; Story County, Iowa. Numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends. In death he has rejoined his parents, his wife: Patricia. His brothers: Harv, Ben, "Case", Jim, "Bus". His sisters: Marie and Ruby Poling, nephew: Dick Botts and niece: Bonnie Pence. May they rest in peace. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday; August 30, 2007. Memorial services celebrating his life will begin at: 1:30 p.m. on Saturday; September 1, 2007 at the funeral home. There will be a time of fellowship and refreshments immediately following.
