Description	:	MOTHER AND BABY FATALLY BURNED NORTH OF ESSEX FUNERAL TUESDAY AT PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH IN ESSEX A young mother and her three year old daughter lost their lives in a tragic blaze two miles north of Esses Saturday night. Both mother and daughter died at a Shenandoah Hospital. Gladys Moore, 23, died at 11:30 p.m. Saturday night and her daughter, Joyce, died at 9:30 p.m .the same night. The pair were fatally burned when the youngster, playing with kerosene in the kitchen while her mother was busy elsewhere in the house, spilled some of the fluid on the kitchen stove and in the explosion which followed the tot was engulfed in flames. Hearing her child’s cries, the mother rushed to the kitchen and in efforts to smother the flames, she two was fatally burned. The mother is survived by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Clarence Moore, four brothers, Don Ivan, Fredrick, Jimmy, and Raymond and three sisters, Mabel, Betty, and Maxine.
