She was born Jan. 31, 1927, at Ames, Kan., to Gilbert and Edna Cyre Tremblay. She married Abner P. Cote, on July 27, 1943, at St Joseph, Kan. He preceded her in death on Dec. 12, 1995. She was a nurse aide, for more than 40 years, at St. Joseph Hospital and Nazareth Motherhouse. Gladys was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church and the altar Society. Survivors include two daughters, Jolene Emmel and husband Vic Jr. and Lori Kagle, all of Concordia; two sons, Loren Cote and wife Jolene and Leland Cote, all of Concordia; one sister, Adeline Charbonneau of Concordia; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Besides her husband, Abner, she was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Gerald Tremblay. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., Friday, Dec. 19, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Concordia with the Rev. Barry Brinkman officiating. Burial will be in St. Concordia Cemetery, Concordia, Kan. Altar Society Rosary will be at 5 p.m., Thursday, at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home, Concordia. Vigil services will be at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Gladys cote Memorial fund.
