Read More	SHINGLETOWN, CA ~ Mrs. Gladys Tucker Smith, age 93, of Shingletown, CA and formerly of Siloam, NC, died Saturday, November 26, 2016 at her home. She was born February 18, 1923 to the late George Arthur Tucker & Regina Jackson Tucker. Mrs. Smith was owner of Smith’s Bridal Boutique, flowers, & catering. She was a member of Siloam Baptist Church in Siloam and Open Door Community Church in Shingletown, CA. Mrs. Smith is survived by her daughters & son-in-law, Anita & Ray Gertsch of Shingletown, CA and Crystal Duchow of Shingletown, CA; son & daughter-in-law, Dan & Ann Smith of Holden Beach, NC; grandchildren: Scott Smith of Sunset Beach, NC, Rebekah & Mark Valentine of Boone, NC, Sarah & Aaron McKethan of Durham, NC, and Stephanie & Andy Jackson of Vermont, NC; step-grandchildren: Holly Gertsch Balaoro & husband Robert of Gilroy, CA and Brian & Suzette Gertsch of Salinas, CA; fourteen great-grandchildren; sister, Shirley Tucker Nichols & husband Walter “Nick” of Pilot Mountain, NC; brother & sister-in-law, Angus Tucker & Mary Francis Tucker of Pilot Mountain, NC and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Calvin Smith; daughter, Sharray Smith Lawrence; sisters: Lillian Tucker & Mary Ethel Bowman; and brothers: James Thomas Tucker (Stillborn), Dennis Tucker, George B. Tucker, Howard Tucker, & Raymond “Buck” Tucker. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, December 3, 2016 at 1 p.m. at Siloam Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Bill Faw with interment to follow in the church cemetery. Family will receive friends Saturday at the church from 11:30 a.m. until time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Siloam Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, c/o Margaret Carter, P.O. Box 25, Siloam, NC 27047.
