He had moved to Colorado from Wisconsin before he was a year old. His parents, John and Luella Coad, and older brothers and sisters homesteaded on a claim near Stratton, Colorado in 1906. The family moved to Wray in 1916. Osborne began working at the Kitzmiller Rexall Drug store at the age of 14 and worked there the rest of his life. He attended Wray schools. After his marriage to Gladys, he attended Capitol College of Pharmacy in Denver. He graduated and later passed the State Board of Pharmacy to become a registered pharmacist. Gladys worked as a linotype operator at the Colorado Patriot, the Wray Gazette, and the Wray Rattler. She had learned the trade at age 18 from Frank Hawks. In 1950 Osborne and Gladys bought a flower and gift shop, Coad's Gifts and Antiques. Osborne passed away in November, 1951. Mrs. Coad and A. B. Nash were married December 2, 1964. Mr. Nash was killed in a railroad accident in north Wray March 10, 1965 when his pickup was struck by a train.
