Rev. Ron Wasikowski officiated. Interment was in the parish cemetery. Mrs. Flanagan died Thursday, March 9, at the Boone Country Health Center in Albion. Gladys Margie Flanagan, the daughter of Frank and Laura (Woberg) LeSuer, was born September 5, 1927, in Omaha. She grew up in the Stromsburg and Osceola areas. She then moved with her family to St. Edward where she graduated from St. Edward High School. On October 24, 1944, Marge married Raymond Flanagan at the St. Edward Catholic Church in St. Edward. They lived in rural Albion until moving into town in the early 1950’s. Marge worked with her husband, who was co-owner of the Albion Livestock Market, until the mid 1970s. Ray died in 1978 and Marge continued to live in Albion. She served as the Boone County Treasurer for 19 years, from 1976 until her retirement in 1994. Marge was a member of the History and Art Department of the Albion Woman’s Club and had served as president and secretary She was a member of the Albion Area Arts Council where she served as treasurer. She was part president of the State Association of County Treasurers and was appointed as a member by Governor Kay Orr of the Twenty-First Judicial committee. In 1993, Marge was named Outstanding County Treasurer of the Year at the County Official State Convention. She served two terms on the Albion Country Club Board of Directors and served on its building committee. She was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church where she had served on the Parish council and the Finance Committee. Survivors include two daughters, Jeanne McGinnis of Dawson and Joey Sullivan of Albion; one son, Dave of Columbus; 10 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Ray, and a son-in-law, John Kennedy
