Description	:	The Polk Progress 06/03/1943 Gladys Marie Blasé, daughter of Henry C Blasé and his wife, Vera, nee Schaepler, was born December 18, 1927. She became God’s child by the Sacrament of Holy Baptism on December 30th of that year, and received the rite of confirmation in the same church on April 6, 1941. At that time she graduated from the parochial school of the congregation and since attended Polk High School for two years where she earned the respect and love of her many schoolmates and teachers. Read More	The Polk Progress 06/03/1943 Gladys Marie Blasé, daughter of Henry C Blasé and his wife, Vera, nee Schaepler, was born December 18, 1927. She became God’s child by the Sacrament of Holy Baptism on December 30th of that year, and received the rite of confirmation in the same church on April 6, 1941. At that time she graduated from the parochial school of the congregation and since attended Polk High School for two years where she earned the respect and love of her many schoolmates and teachers. She spent all her life in this community, attending church, Sunday School and recently joined the Young people’s Society of the congregation, the Walther League, in which she was a faithful member. On May 2, she was taken to the York hospital to undergo an appendectomy. After returning home she was taken for a second time and on the 23rd returned home in an encouraging state of convalescence. On Monday, May 24, 1942 at 8:30 A.M. she fell asleep in the arms of her Savior to whom she had pledged faithfulness unto death, succumbing to a sudden attack of embolism. She leaves to mourn her sorely bereaved father and mother, four grandparents, Mr and Mrs Fred Blasé, Mr and Mrs Frank Schaepler: two great grandparents, henry VonHousen and Mrs Anna Schaepler. Other near relatives are two uncles and three aunts, Mr and Mrs Raymond Stunkel, Mr and Mrs Fred Laessle and Delta Schaepler and her only cousin Alvertus Laessle. Also great uncles and aunts and a host of relatives and friends. She reached the age of 15 years, 5 months and 6 days.
