Read More	STROTHKAMP, GLADYS ODESSA—Gladys Odessa Strothkamp, daughter of Dauny Robertson and Charles Gehlauf, was born at Elmont, Mo., on August 31, 1897. Gladys grew up at Elmont, Mo., attending school and Pilot Grove Church, and was baptized there. She died May 16, 1985, at the Fillmore county Hospital having reached the age of 87 years, 8 months and 16 days. She was united in marriage to Allen J. Strothkamp on October 10, 1915, at Japan, Mo., and to this union seven children were born. In 1917, Allen and Gladys came to Nebraska, residing on farms in Chelsea and Madison townships, Fillmore county. They moved to Geneva in 1958, and in 1965 they had the privilege of celebrating their golden wedding anniversary. After Allen’s death in 1967, she resided in her home until November of 1981, at which time she made her home at Heritage of Geneva. She leaves to mourn her passing four children and their spouses, Earl and Ann Strothkamp, Donald and Joy Strothkamp, Virgil and LuEtta Strothkamp, all living in Geneva, and Doris Stutheit of Lincoln; a daughter-in-law, Marilyn Boelts of Ozark, Mo.; 16 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter, a brother, Ernest Gehlauf of Sullivan, Mo.; and nieces; nephews and other family and friends. Three sons preceded her in death, Lloyd, Kenneth and a stillborn son; two grandsons; 1 son-in-law; her parents and two sisters. Gladys was a kind and loving mother, and was always there to help whenever needed by her family. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her. Funeral services were conducted from the Farmer and Son Funeral Home in Geneva on Monday, May 20, with the Rev. Ronald A. rice officiating. Kenneth Headlee accompanied Mike Wilkins who sang “Amazing Grace” and “In the Garden.” Those serving as pallbearers were grandsons, Robert, David, Roy, Mark Daniel and Daryl Strothkamp. Honorary pallbearers were Richard, Thomas and Rodney Strothkamp. Interment was in the Geneva public cemetery. The Nebraska Signal May 30th, 1985 page 5.
