Moore, who has resided in Villisca since she was five years of age, died Sunday evening at 9:45 o’clock at her home, her death resulting from pneumonia and pleurisy following influenza. Gladys Osborn was born in Creston, Iowa, November 5, 1903 and was 25 years old at her death. She moved with her parents to Nodaway when she was 1 year old and after residing there four years, they came to Villisca where she resided afterward continuously until her death. Moore, who has resided in Villisca since she was five years of age, died Sunday evening at 9:45 o’clock at her home, her death resulting from pneumonia and pleurisy following influenza. Gladys Osborn was born in Creston, Iowa, November 5, 1903 and was 25 years old at her death. She moved with her parents to Nodaway when she was 1 year old and after residing there four years, they came to Villisca where she resided afterward continuously until her death. She was graduated from the Villisca High School in 1921 and she and Collis E. Moore, one of her classmates were married on December 22, 1923, in their own home here. To them were born two daughters, Mary Colleen, who came on their first wedding anniversary and Mary Jeane, now 2 years old. Hearing their mother express a wish for violets last Friday the two children went out into their backyard and picked the bouquet which rested in her lifeless hands as she was borne to her grave Tuesday afternoon. Besides her husband and children, Mrs. Moore leaves her mother, Mrs. Ben Osborn and her two brothers, Ned and Harold, all of Villisca. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church and gave much of her time and effort in its service. Her funeral was held at the church Tuesday at 2:30 o’clock, conducted by Rev. R. J. blue. The singing wa by J. H. Todd, H. H. Nordyke, J. B. Means, and R. J. Swanson and the pall bearers were high school classmates of the deceased, Harry Bashaw, Harry Borrusch, Quincy Dunn, Glen Garey, Donald Stickler, and Malcolm Victor. Interment was in the Villisca Cemetery. Those who came from a distance to the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Fred Osborn, Will Osborn and two children, and Mrs. Howard Stickles of Creston, Mrs. Wm, LeMay of Omaha, Judge and Mrs. W. C. Ratcliff of Red Oak, and Mr. and Mrs. E. Daugherty, Mr. and Mrs. Marcus McKown, and MRs. Fred Orme of Nodaway. Villisca Review, Friday, February 22, 1929, page 2
