Description	:	Glen E. Cohn, Sr., age 94 of Nebraska City passed away on Saturday evening; May 29, 2021 at the Ambassador in Nebraska City. Glen was born on Feb. 14, 1927 southeast of Nebraska City near the former Minersville; the son of Charles W. and Lelia L. (Witty) Cohn. He attended school and graduated from the Nebr. City High School with the Class of 1945. He entered the United States Army on December 21, 1945 and honorably served his country until being discharged on December 7, 1946. He then served in the Nebraska Army National Guard.... Read More	Glen E. Cohn, Sr., age 94 of Nebraska City passed away on Saturday evening; May 29, 2021 at the Ambassador in Nebraska City. Glen was born on Feb. 14, 1927 southeast of Nebraska City near the former Minersville; the son of Charles W. and Lelia L. (Witty) Cohn. He attended school and graduated from the Nebr. City High School with the Class of 1945. He entered the United States Army on December 21, 1945 and honorably served his country until being discharged on December 7, 1946. He then served in the Nebraska Army National Guard. In total, he devoted 24 ½ years of his life to his country. He was united in marriage to Shirley Mae Best on August 20, 1954 in Nebr. City and they shared 57 wonderful years together raising their family. Shirley preceded him in death on Dec. 9, 2011. Glen worked as the Can Division Manager at Morton House Kitchens in Nebr. City for numerous years. He also served at Maintenance Manager for Lipton Tea Co. in Suffolk, VA and Independence, MO. He was a member of American Legion Post #8 and the Eagles. He survived by his five sons: Jay C. Cohn (Deb) of Olathe, KS, Glen E. Cohn, Jr. of Rock Port, MO, Gary A Cohn (Teralyn) of Sedgwick, KS, William D. Cohn (Brenda) and Chad L. Cohn (Tammy) all of Lincoln, NE; nine grandchildren: Kimberly, Aaron, Kindl and Keenan Cohn, Hillary Anderson, James Cohn, Megan Bettell, Matthew Tonjes and Jared Viets; three great-grandchildren: Anden, Danielle, Aurora and another to be born this month; a sister-in-law Beverly Snyder of North Bend, NE, other family and friends. In addition to his wife, Glen was preceded in death by an infant daughter Jacene, an infant sister Maxine and siblings: Melvin Cohn, Sid Cohn, Louise Moore, Mildred Tucker and Virginia Gardner. Private family graveside services will be held at Wyuka Cemetery in Nebraska City with military honors conducted by the Nebr. Army National Guard Funeral Honors Detail.
