Description	:	********************** WAUNETA , NE. -- Glen Richard Lewis, 69, died Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2008, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney, Nebraska. He was born June 17, 1938, on the family farm in Hitchcock County, Nebraska, to Isaac E. and Leretta S. (Bush) Lewis. He attended country school and graduated from Wauneta Public High School in 1955. He attended Chadron State College for a year. He enlisted in the US Marine Corp on Oct. 30, 1956. He served two years and after his discharge returned to Southwest Nebraska. He married Bernice A. He was born June 17, 1938, on the family farm in Hitchcock County, Nebraska, to Isaac E. and Leretta S. (Bush) Lewis. He attended country school and graduated from Wauneta Public High School in 1955. He attended Chadron State College for a year. He enlisted in the US Marine Corp on Oct. 30, 1956. He served two years and after his discharge returned to Southwest Nebraska. He married Bernice A. Styskal in March of 1961, at Grant, Nebraska. He taught in many locations throughout Southwest Nebraska, while traveling to Kearney State College, updating his teaching certificate and obtaining his bachelors degree. In 1972, the family moved to Kearney, where he became an elementary school principal and earned his Master's Degree in Education. In 1979, he moved with his family to Wilcox and became the Superintendent of Wilcox Public Schools and earned his specialist degree. He retired in 1993, and moved to Boonville, MO, where he drove a truck, visiting 47 of the continental states. He later moved to Odessa and then to Kearney to be near his family. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Lorene Greeley and Vera Remington. Survivors include his sons, Rick and wife, Linda of McCook, NE, Rob and wife, Susan of Hanahan, SC, and Randy and wife, Andrea of Bee, NE; daughters, Shelly Hansen and husband, Tony of Lexington, NE, and Becky Seybold and husband, Michael of Hildreth, NE; brothers, John Lewis and wife, Francis of Wauneta, NE, Lloyd Lewis and wife, Doris of Lincoln, NE, Jim Lewis and wife, Charlene of Avoca, IA, and Kenneth Lewis and wife, JoAnn of Cambridge, NE; sisters, Lois Kanost of Wauneta, NE, Reva Wicke of Wauneta, NE, and Nadene Brass of Wichita, KS; 12 grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. Funeral services will be at First United Methodist Church in Wauneta, Nebraska, with the Paul Matson officiating. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery at Wauneta, Nebraska.
