Description	:	Glen Silver Young was born in Britton, South Dakota, on December 9, 1890, to parents William Simmon and Ada Frances (Bradley) Young. He came to Ransom County, North Dakota as a young man with his parents. He was working for Roger's Brothers prior to being inducted into the military. He was a Veteran of World War I. Glen was inducted at Lisbon, North Dakota on February 5, 1918. He served in Company F, 318th Engineer, 6th Division, Camp Dodge Detachment No. 830. Read More	Glen Silver Young was born in Britton, South Dakota, on December 9, 1890, to parents William Simmon and Ada Frances (Bradley) Young. He came to Ransom County, North Dakota as a young man with his parents. He was working for Roger's Brothers prior to being inducted into the military. He was a Veteran of World War I. Glen was inducted at Lisbon, North Dakota on February 5, 1918. He served in Company F, 318th Engineer, 6th Division, Camp Dodge Detachment No. 830. From May 14, 1918 to June 11, 1919 he served overseas in France. He took part in the Meuse - Argonne offense; and on the defensive sector in the Gerandmer (Alsace) engagement. He was discharged at Camp Dodge, Iowa, on June 21, 1919, as a Corporal. He married Augusta "Gussie" Krueger in Sheldon, North Dakota. Glen was a carpenter by trade and built many homes during his career. On Tuesday evening, September 18, 1956, Glen died suddenly of a heart attack at the Veteran's Hospital in Fargo, North Dakota. He was 75. He leaves a wife of 35 years; several nieces and nephews. Glen and Gussie had no children of their own. Funeral services were held at the Lozier Chapel at 2:00 PM on Friday, September 21st. The Rev. G. A. Schaible officiated. Interment followed.
