Glen lived in Kearney County until he was 19 years of age, when he moved to Lincoln, Nebraska, to accept employment with the Burlington Railroad. Glen was married to Lillie Anderson in March, 1922. To this union three children were born, Gilbert Eugene, Mona Belle, and Willa Mae. Lillie passed on November, 1937. Glen and his children moved to Vallejo, California in 1940. Here, Glen accepted a position at the Mare Island Navy Yard. On May 4, 1941, Glen was united in marriage to Verna Jensen. In 1946, when Glen accepted a position at Airesearch Corporation, in Inglewoood, California, the family moved to Long Beach. Glen continued with this company until his retirement in December, 1965. Preceding Glen in death were his parents, his sister, Isabelle Kauffelt, and his son, Gilbert. Survivors include his wife, Verna; his daughters, Mona Schellinger and Willa Riggs, of Long Beach, Calif.; his brother Wallace and wife Sylvia, Lincoln, Nebr.; his sister-in-law Clara Walberg, Minden, Nebr.; his cousin, Margaret Elliot, of Omaha, Nebr,; five grandchildren: Gilbert Nelsen of Littleton, Colo., Nelsen Money of Auburn, Calif., Nat Schellinger of Hanford, California, Kelly Riggs and Steven Riggs of Long Beach, California; Two great-grandchildren, Sarah and John Money, live in Auburn, California. Glen's granddaughter-in-law composed a poem as a gift to him for his eightieth birthday. This poem expressed the admiration, the enjoyment, and the love of all members of the family for our husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and cousin. Glen's happiness was in his devotion to his family, and his association with his friends. We share this poem with you: Look at those hands, those are hands filled with strength and care; always giving, seldom taking, always willing to be there. They show signs of years of hard work, yes, the lines of toil are there. But among the rough and ready lines are the tender lines of love and care. Look at that smile, those are lips filled with silent thought, spreading laughter with a quick wit to delight the ones he loves. They show signs of years of hard life, when the smiles were sometimes few. But among the sad, are the happy lines of joy he's shared with me and you Look at us here, we're the sign of this one man's love, giving to his wife and family with the help of God above. Grandma loves him oh so dearly, and, of course, his children do agree. And the grandkids, and the great ones too-- what a wonderful family!
