Kiester was born Aug. 24, 1911, to Fred and Ida (Low) Newby in Tobias, and passed away April 29, 2000, at the Tabitha Nursing Home in Lincoln, at the age of 88 years. She had been a resident of Tabitha since January of 1994. Glenda graduated from the Tobias High School in 1929. She was married to Elton (Tony) Wilson on June 19, 1935, in York. Kiester was born Aug. 24, 1911, to Fred and Ida (Low) Newby in Tobias, and passed away April 29, 2000, at the Tabitha Nursing Home in Lincoln, at the age of 88 years. She had been a resident of Tabitha since January of 1994. Glenda graduated from the Tobias High School in 1929. She was married to Elton (Tony) Wilson on June 19, 1935, in York. They made their home in Geneva, and to them one daughter, Sharon Kay was born. Tony died Nov. 9, 1965, after a long illness. On Jan. 1, 1967, she married Robert Kiester. Robert died in March of 1968. On Sept. 22, 1974, she moved from Geneva to Lincoln to be nearer her daughter and family. She transferred her membership from the Geneva United Methodist Church to the United Methodist Church in Lincoln. Glenda was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; a brother and a great-grandson, Taylor Jeffery Engle. She is survived by her daughter, Sharon Kaye Waterman and husband, Roger; two granddaughters, Melanie Jean Buis and husband, Kevin; and Tammy Rae Engle and husband, Garrett; three great-grandchildren, Anthony Martin Buis, Mollie Jean Buis and Elliott Aaron Engle and nieces and nephews. Private family graveside services were conducted from the Geneva Public Cemetery in Geneva on Tuesday, May 2, 2000, with Rev. Brian Kottas officiating.
