Description	:	Glenn D. Mapes, 55, Natoma, died Monday at a Kansas City, Mo. hospital. He had cancer and had been ill about a year. He was born Nov. 30, 1920 at Ogallah, Trego Co. Ks., the son of Norman G. and Leda (Denny) Mapes. He lived most of his esrly life in Ogallah until the family moved to Plainville in the mid-1930's and to Horton prior to 1940. Mapes, 55, Natoma, died Monday at a Kansas City, Mo. hospital. He had cancer and had been ill about a year. He was born Nov. 30, 1920 at Ogallah, Trego Co. Ks., the son of Norman G. and Leda (Denny) Mapes. He lived most of his esrly life in Ogallah until the family moved to Plainville in the mid-1930's and to Horton prior to 1940. He was a veteran of WW II, having served with the U.S. Army from 1942-1946. Mr. Mapes was married to Vivian Hallauer Amon on April 16, 1946 at Horton, Kansas. They lived in Horton prior to moving to Natoma about 30 years ago. He worked in the oil fields and was employed by the City of Natoma at the time of his death. He was a member of the United Methodist Church,. Survivors include his wife of the home, four daughters, Nancy Wright, Natoma, Mary Kay (Gene) Buinger, Olathe, Jerry (Ken) Patry, Omaha, Neb. and Kerry Mapes. Ulysses; two brothers, Keith Mapes, Natoma and Arland Mapes, Salina, and four grandchildren. Services will be Wednesday at 2 PM at the United Methodist Chruch, Natoma. Burial wil be in Natoma Cemetery.
