Read More	Glenn Duane Hamann of Le Mars, Iowa passed away on Sunday, August 8, 2021, at Mercy One in Sioux City, Iowa. Glenn Duane Hamann was born on July 20, 1942, in Le Mars, the son of William and Mildred (Hammatt) Hamann. He graduated from Le Mars High School in 1960. Following high school, Glenn enlisted in the United States Navy. He proudly served his country during the Vietnam War. Upon earning an Honorable Discharge from the Navy, Glenn enrolled at Western Iowa Technical Community College in Sioux City. After he received a degree in welding, he took training to become a federal meat inspector. On October 28, 1978, Glenn and Phyllis (Rozell) Rann were united in marriage at St. John's Lutheran Church in Le Mars. Glenn would work mostly at Dubuque Packing in Le Mars until it closed, then he inspected meat at various plants in the area. He retired on December 31, 1999. Not wanting to sit idle, Glenn took a position at Walmart in Le Mars in 2011. He started with bicycle assembly but also performed many other jobs. He was currently working at Walmart when he became ill. Glenn was baptized and confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church in Le Mars. He enjoyed participating in several Bible studies. His greatest love was spending time with his family. Coaching Little League and teaching his grandchildren to play baseball was a favorite pastime. Glenn was also an artist and could often be found sketching and woodcarving. Grateful to have shared his life, is his wife Phyllis Hamann of Le Mars; his children: Ramonda Swindell, Rollin (Diana) Rann, Rodney Rann and Randy (Candace) Rann all of Le Mars; Ronald (Barbara) Rann of Sioux City and Robin Barreras of Kingsley, Iowa; 22 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren; his siblings, Gayle Maney of Merrill, Iowa; Joyce (Clifford) Boehning of Amarillo, Texas; Carol (Dennis) Taylor of Le Mars; sister-in-law Carlene Hamann of Danbury, Iowa; brother-in-law Brent Schmidt of Amarillo, Texas; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents William and Mildred Hamann; sisters: Judy Hamann and Tamie (Hamann) Schmidt; brother Lynn; son-in-law Michael Swindell; grandson Steven Kelly Swindell; sister-in-law & brother-in-law Adele and LaRue Hansen; brothers-in-law: Arlen Oltmanns and Dick Hartmann. Funeral services will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, August 12, 2021, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Le Mars. Rev. Christian Meier will officiate. Burial will follow at Memorial Cemetery in Le Mars. Visitation will begin at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 11, 2021, at the Mauer – Johnson Funeral Home in Le Mars. The family will be present from 5-7:30 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. There will also be one hour of visitation at the church prior to the funeral service on Thursday.
