Description	:	Glenn H. Meyer, 75, of Prescott, Ariz., died Friday, Sept. 5, 2008, at Yavapai Regional Hospital. He was born April 5, 1933, on a farm near Hooper, Neb., to Henry and Nora Meyer. He attended rural Nebraska schools, graduating from Scribner High School in 1950. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean conflict aboard the U.S.S. He was born April 5, 1933, on a farm near Hooper, Neb., to Henry and Nora Meyer. He attended rural Nebraska schools, graduating from Scribner High School in 1950. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean conflict aboard the U.S.S. Los Angeles, and subsequently returned to Nebraska and was married to Marjorie Von Essen, to whom he was married for 12 years. They had two children, Cindy and Michael. He was employed by Hormel & Co. in Fremont, Neb. He married his second wife, Iyone Magnuson, on April 7, 1968, and they moved to Berryville, and opened a Coast to Coast franchise hardware store, which they operated together for 21 years. They adopted their daughter Rebecca in 1971, and in Arkansas were active in the community, the Methodist Church, public schools, and enjoyed hosting and working as liaisons for exchange students through the AFS exchange program. After retiring from the retail hardware business in 1990, Glenn enjoyed working in the cast of the Great Passion Play in Eureka Springs, for five years, playing the parts of several priests in the production. They moved to Prescott, Ariz. in January, 1996, where Glenn has enjoyed retirement, golf and volunteer service to Open Door, a Coalition for Compassion and Justice program. He is survived by his wife Iyone, daughter and son-in-law Cindy and Rod Wiebelhaus of Fordyce, Neb.; son and daughter-in-law Michael and Champu Meyer of Prachuabkirikhan, Thailand; daughter and son-in-law Rebecca and Dan Khuu of Chandler, Ariz.; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and sister Joan Moeller of Omaha, Neb. He was preceded in death by his parents. A service in celebration of Glenn's life was to be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 12, 2008, at Prescott United Methodist Church in Prescott, with the Rev. Nancy Cushman officiating. A memorial service and interment is also planned at Pohocco Lutheran Church near Fremont, Neb., on Oct. 17. In lieu of flowers, memorials are established for the Coalition for Compassion & Justice or Prescott United Methodist Church, both located at 505 West Gurley, Prescott, AZ 86301, or the Pohocco Lutheran Church Cemetery Association, Fremont, NE.
