Description	:	Glenn Jackson Goad, 89, formerly of Floyd, passed away in College Pines Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Valdese, N.C., on Monday, February 13, 2012. He was the son of the late Eddie Jackson Goad and Ada Goad. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his loving wife of 56 years, Lillie Loraine Goad. He is survived by his son, Steve Goad and daughter-in-law, Teresa Goad, of Valdese, N.C.; a daughter, Donna Turner and son-in-law, Joe Turner; and six grandchildren, Kreg, Aaron, and Marcus Goad, and Greg, Kim, and Eric Allen. He was a member of New Haven Baptist Church, Floyd, Va. Glenn served in the United States Army during World War II from 1942 until 1945. There will be no visitation. A Graveside Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, February 15, 2012, at Jacksonville Cemetery, Floyd, Va., with the Rev. John Chambers and the Rev. Jeff Sweeny officiating. Graveside Military Rites by Floyd VFW Post 7854 and American Legion Post # 127. The family is being served by Gardner Funeral Home, Floyd, Va., 540-745-2007.
