Description	:	OBIT: Glenn Gregory, 67, lifelong Westside resident and active Farm Bureau, irrigation and local schools official, died Monday. A member of the First Christian Church, he served as a church elder for many years and was known for his strong commitment to his family and church. Read More	OBIT: Glenn Gregory, 67, lifelong Westside resident and active Farm Bureau, irrigation and local schools official, died Monday. A member of the First Christian Church, he served as a church elder for many years and was known for his strong commitment to his family and church. After graduating from Ellensburg High School in 1940, he attended Central Washington University (then College of Education) for a year before returning to work on the family farm which he continued until his death. He and Catherine Friend were married, June 27, 1943. He recently received special regognition from the Damman School Centennial Committee for serving more than 35 years on the district's boad of directors. In 1988 he received a Farm Bureau award for 40 years of service having been both a county and state board member. At the State FB convention in 1989, he received the state "President's Award." He was a lifelong officer of the Westside Irrigating Co., served on the county Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service board, and was for many years chairman of the county joint committee of school board directors on reorganization. He was an advocate for small schools. Through the years he has been involved in agriculture test plots to aid in the experimentation of new crops and agricuture methods in conjunction with the County Extension office. He was honored in 1979 by the local F.F.A. chapter as an Honorary Chapter Farmer. He is survived by his wife, Catherine, at the home; children Roger and Karen Gregory, Wenatchee, Diana (Gregory) and Richard Aaby, Fallon, Nev., Glenna (Gregory) and Rick Carmody, Yakima, Marsha (Gregory) and John Smith, Ellensburg, James and Maidee Gregory, Puyallup; nine grandchildren; a sister, Bette Miller, Seattle; a brother, Gene Gregory, Renton; and three aunts, Pauline Scheele, Pasco, Goldie Nicholson, Yakima, and Mae Lewis, Aberdeen. He was preceded in death by his mother Zella, in 1960, his father, Elmer, in 1975 and a grandson, Ryan in 1986. Private family graveside services will be at the IOOF Cemetery. A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, First Christian Church, Ellensburg. Viewing at Cotton Chapel is Thursday, 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Memorials may be sent to the First Christian Church Memorial Fund, 6th and Ruby, Ellensburg; or Hospice for Kittitas County, 603 S.
