Description	:	Glenn William Stewart, youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. George Stewart, was born on a farm near Aredale, February 19, 1921, and passed out of his life on Monday, October 18, 1937, at the Hampton hospital, just as the shades of evening were falling. Read More	Glenn William Stewart, youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. George Stewart, was born on a farm near Aredale, February 19, 1921, and passed out of his life on Monday, October 18, 1937, at the Hampton hospital, just as the shades of evening were falling. He had been taken to the hospital earlier in the day hoping for relief from a malady which had baffled the skill of physicians. Glenn had lived his short life in this vicinity, attending a rural school until the spring of 1933 when the family came to town to reside, since which time he attended the Bristow public school, where he was a general favorite, being of a genial kind, energetic, likeable lad, fond of his teachers and schoolmates, a lover of home and the family circle. At the time of his passing he was a soph- omore in school and a member of the base ball squad. His going has left a vacant chair in the home, and a vacant place among the youth of the community. We will all miss him. We are reminded anew by the passing of Glenn that "Death Loves a Shining Mark". Surviving are his parents, two brothers, Ray and Orville, two sisters, Elizabeth and Dorothy, his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. R.H. Stewart and William Knoll, other relatives, friends, teachers and schoolmates. One and all regret he was summoned so early in life. Funeral obsequies were held on Thursday, October21, from the home at !:30 o'clock and from the United Brethren church at 2:00 o'clock. The Rev. G.H. Varce was in charge. The high school and faculty provided beautiful flowers and attended the rites in a body. A duet, Mrs. A.N. Morford and Mrs. C.A. Waite, with Mrs. Clara Stewart accompanying, sang favorite selections. The Rev. Varce spoke feelingly from the Scripture "The days of his youth hast thou shortened" and "What I do thou knowest not now, but thou shalt know hereafter". His casket bearers included Stanton Conger, Russell DeFrance, Jakie Wessels, Merville Eberline, Lawrence Fink and _______________. Miss Dorothy Waite and Miss Lorraine Wessels were in charge of the floral offerings. Friends from a distance who attended the funeral included: H. B. Kephart and son Henry Jr. Mason City; Jake Kephart, Mrs. W.E. Jackson, Mrs. Lawrence Jackson and two daughters, Mrs. Wesley Garrison and Mrs. LLoyd Graves and Mrs. Earl Brannon, all of Hampton. All of the neighboring towns and many rural districts were well represented, manifesting their sympathy and interest. We unite with people of the community in extending sympathy to the bereaved family. Interment was at Oak Hill Cemetery in the family lot. "He is not dead, he is just away".
