Description	:	The funeral for Gloria L. Stouffer, 83, of Fremont, formerly of North Bend and Dodge, will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont. She died Monday, Jan. 23, 2006, at Arbor Manor in Fremont. She was born Jan. 21, 1923, in Arlington to Lawrence and Bertha (Brinkman) Laursen. She grew up in Arlington and Fremont. She lived in Tekamah for a couple of years and at Decatur for two years until moving to a farm south of Dodge, where the couple farmed. They moved into North Bend in 1976. Stouffer, 83, of Fremont, formerly of North Bend and Dodge, will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont. She died Monday, Jan. 23, 2006, at Arbor Manor in Fremont. She was born Jan. 21, 1923, in Arlington to Lawrence and Bertha (Brinkman) Laursen. She grew up in Arlington and Fremont. She lived in Tekamah for a couple of years and at Decatur for two years until moving to a farm south of Dodge, where the couple farmed. They moved into North Bend in 1976. She was a seamstress and also enjoyed baking, sewing, crocheting, playing cards, gardening and flowers. She previously made quilts with the women of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Snyder. She had been residing at Shalimar Gardens in Fremont since July 2004. She married Henry A. Stouffer on Dec. 15, 1940, in Tekamah. He died Jan. 7, 2005. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Snyder until it closed. She then transferred her membership to St. John's Lutheran Church in Ridgeley, near Scribner. She taught Bible school and Sunday school for many years. She was a former member of a sewing club at Decatur and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8223 Auxiliary at North Bend. Survivors include: three daughters, Hazel (Mrs. Gene) Coufal of Fremont, Judy S. (Mrs. Graham) Smoot of Clermont, Fla., and Patricia Stouffer of Thornton, Colo.; a son, Richard (and wife, Jacque) Stouffer of Cody, Wyo.; three sisters, her twin, Gladys Modlin of Fremont, Elaine Osterman of Paradise, Calif., and Roberta Fowler of Las Cruces, N.M.; nine grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, five stepgreat-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter-in-law, Kathy Stouffer, a brother, Carrol Laursen, and a granddaughter, Carrie Coufal. Dr. Nicki McIntyre, vicar of St. John's Lutheran Church in Ridgeley, near Scribner, will officiate Friday's service. Visitation will be from 2-9 p.m. Thursday and 9-10:30 a.m. Friday with the family receiving friends from 6:30-8 p.m. Thursday, all at the funeral home. Burial will be in Memorial Cemetery in Fremont. Honorary pallbearers will be Tyler and Jarett Presswood and Stan Hart. Pallbearers will be Jim and Ray Modlin, Cory Coufal, Doug Stouffer and Josh and Curtis Hart. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to St. John's Lutheran Church at Ridgeley and to Odyssey Hospice Program.
