Gloria Schaefer was born April 13, 1931 in St. Paul, NE to Frank and Ann (Korus) Nosal. As a child she moved to Columbus where she graduated from St. Bonaventure High School in 1950. On August 4, 1952, Gloria was united in marriage to Kenneth Schaefer at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Columbus. Gloria and Ken owned and operated B-K Floor Crafters from 1955 until 2011. During that time, Gloria was a wonderful homemaker and loving mother to their eight children. Gloria was full of endless energy and enjoyed helping others whenever needed. Whether it was driving a friend to church or stepping in to care for the grandchildren, she was always willing to lend a hand to those in need. She was a member of St. Isidore Catholic Church, the Catholic Daughters of America, Christian Mothers, CEC, and Scotus Mothers. Gloria was a regular volunteer at Morys Haven, Simon House, Perpetual Adoration, and Meals on Wheels. She is survived by: Son: Greg (Kim) Schaefer of Columbus Son: Randy Schaefer of Columbus Son: Joe Schaefer of Columbus Daughter: Cindy Canaday of Columbus Daughter: Sandy (Mark) Swope of Columbus Daughter: Lisa (Joel) Long of Omaha Son: Scott (Pamela) Schaefer of Columbus Daughter-in-laws: Sharon Schaefer & Kim Schaefer of Columbus 33 Grandchildren 44 Great Grandchildren Sister Sylvia (Virg) Mostek of Omaha Brother Jack (Kathy) Nosal of Columbus Sister-in-law Irene Nosal of Elkhorn She was preceded in death by: Husband Kenneth Schaefer Parents Frank and Ann Nosal Son Ron Schaefer Sons-in-law Paul Canaday and Gene Witt Brothers Kenny Nosal, Gene Nosal, and Art Nosal Memorials are suggested to the wishes of the family or to the donors choice.
