Gloria, 65, of Pitkin, entered eternal rest on Friday, September 5, 2014 in the Grace Home of Alexandria. She was born on June 30, 1949 in Pitkin to the union of Earl and Ethel Thompson Maricle. She worked for Companion Care as a care giver. She was a loving mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, and friend. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charlie Van Johnson; brother, J. B. Maricle; and grandson, Zane Odom. She leaves behind to cherish her memories her loving family two sons, Clarence Odom (Candace) and Joseph Perkins both of Pitkin; two daughters, Mary Odom of Pitkin and Ashley Odom of Leesville; one brother, Ricky Maricle; one sister, Betty Chavarria; six grandchildren; and a host of family and friends. Pallbearers to serve will be Stevie Thompson, Jessie Thompson, Matthew Coker, Richard Davis, Travis Terrell, and Patrick Freeman. Visitation will begin Monday, September 8, 2014, from 2 p.m. until 10 p.m., then Tuesday, September 9, 2014 from 8 a.m. until service time in the church at 2 p.m.
