Description	:	The following obituary was contributed by Leta Harrell. The Hamilton Grit Hamilton, KS Thur April 25, 1918 Golden Augustine Briggs daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Briggs, was bron Aug. 10, 1855, near Quincy, Kans., and died at her home in Dist. 9, April 18, 1918, aged 23 years, 8 months, and 8 days. She was married to Wm. R. Swann, Feb 28, 1903 and to this union were born five children, Orville, Oliver, Bessie, Ollin and Elta. The Hamilton Grit Hamilton, KS Thur April 25, 1918 Golden Augustine Briggs daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Briggs, was bron Aug. 10, 1855, near Quincy, Kans., and died at her home in Dist. 9, April 18, 1918, aged 23 years, 8 months, and 8 days. She was married to Wm. R. Swann, Feb 28, 1903 and to this union were born five children, Orville, Oliver, Bessie, Ollin and Elta. All of whom survive except Bessie, who with the father of these little one have passed away leaving the remaining four to be cared for by relatives. On Aug. 29, 1917 she was again united in marriage with S. A. Sherman. Who with her father, mother, eight sisters and one brother are left to mourn her loss. She was of a cheerful disposition, always looking on the bright side of life and bringing cheer wherever she went. When a young girl of 15 she united withe Brethern Church and later joined with Christian Church at Toronto. Most of her life was spent in this community where many friends will miss her cheerful presence from their midst. The funeral, conducted by Rev. Brown, of Quincy, was held at her home Saturday, afternoon and the body was silently laid to rest in the cemetery nearl Neal.
