Description	:	From the Eureka Herald of 19 May 1988 "Goldie E. Gilbert, a resident of the Neal area, died at Greenwood County Hospital in Eureka on Friday, May 13, 1988. She was 81. "Mrs. Gilbert was born November 26, 1906 in Americus and was the daughter of Ernest and Annie Jones Sattler. She came to the Neal community with her parents as a small child and attended the local schools. "On January 21, 1924, Mrs. Gilbert married Richard J. Gilbert in Eureka. Gilbert, a resident of the Neal area, died at Greenwood County Hospital in Eureka on Friday, May 13, 1988. She was 81. "Mrs. Gilbert was born November 26, 1906 in Americus and was the daughter of Ernest and Annie Jones Sattler. She came to the Neal community with her parents as a small child and attended the local schools. "On January 21, 1924, Mrs. Gilbert married Richard J. Gilbert in Eureka. They made their home in the Neal community. he died May 29, 1986. "Mrs. Gilbert was a homemaker and a member of the United Methodist Church in Neal and Golden Star Chapter No. 173 of the Order of the Eastern Star in Toronto. "Mrs. Gilbert is survived by two sisters, Frola Johnson, Halstead,and Edith Truskett, Neal; several nephews and nieces; and many other relatives. She was preceded in death by two sons, Mural, who died while serving in the Navy during World War II, and a son who died in infancy, a daughter, three brothers and a sister, in addition to her husband. "The funeral service was held at Campbell Funeral Home in Eureka the afternoon of Monday, May 16, 1988. The Rev. Gary Roellchen, pastor of the Neal United Methodist Church, officiated. Interment was in Neal Cemetery. "A memorial has been established to the church."
